L’integrazione di blktap2 permette la gestione di immagini e snapshot VHD, gli hard disk virtuali Microsoft.

E’ stato da poco rilasciata la release 4.0 di Xen, il monitor di macchine virtuali opensource rilasciato sotto licenza GPL per piattaforme x86 e compatibili. La nuova versione supporta fino a 128 CPU virtuali per ogni guest, 128 CPU fisiche e fino a 1TB di RAM per host. Tra le novità più interessanti c’è quella che riguarda la modalità pass-through per le perifiche PCI, che ora funziona anche con schede grafiche pur essendo necessario il supporto da parte della scheda madre. Inoltre, l’integrazione di blktap2 permette la gestione di immagini e snapshot VHD (gli hard disk virtuali Microsoft).
